Dominant Performance by Pierson in Virginia Beach Win
|
Virginia Beach Stars starter Ben Pierson was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the El Paso Apaches, 3-0. Pedro Estrada closed the door for Virginia Beach, picking up his 10th save of the year. Virginia Beach, now 18-9, has played well in the early going.
Pierson, who leaned on his knuckle curve, allowed no runs on just 2 hits over 6.2 innings for the Stars. For the most part, El Paso hitters were simply overmatched.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Pierson.
