Mutiny Deal Reign 8-5 Loss
|
Seattle got a terrific game from left fielder Carlos Acuña. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Miami, 8-5. Acuña was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Bartolo Durán finished the game for Miami and earned his 7th save. Miami, now 20-12, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Miami used the timely hitting of Bob Willis to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mutiny on top, 8-5. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Willis told the Miami News.
