The home crowd had a good time watching the Austin Aces and Greenfield Cougars get after it.

The Greenfield Cougars faced a tough opponent in Austin pitcher Vince Abbey, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Cougar Stadium by a final score of 7-3. Abbey went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The Cougars, at 13-22, sit in 4th place in the Joe Jackson League Annie Kinsella Division.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Aymeric Rospigliosi came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Austin pitcher Ron Curnow, he hit a 0-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Greenfield on top, 4-3.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Rospigliosi, "one at-bat at a time."
