Reign Nose Past Cleveland , 2-1
|
Ronald Walker impressed in the 2-1 Seattle win over Cleveland . Walker, who is on pace for 136 RBI this season, hit 2 home runs. Seattle reliever Todd Kelly was the winner. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was David Galería. The Reign, now 19-19, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
Walker had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from David Galería, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Reign a 2-1 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Walker.
"Ronald is still learning," said Reign manager Rory Noble. "The sky's the limit for him."
