The Virginia Beach Stars got production from their entire lineup in an easy 14-1 win over the New Orleans Crawdads. Doing his part was third baseman Fernando Menoscal. Menoscal, who finished 4th in the MGL in on-base percentage with .367 last year, was 2-3 with 2 home runs and 3 walks, while scoring 4 times and driving in 4. Picking up the win was Vicente Encarnación. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 0. The Stars sport a record of 31-15.

The Stars got a big hit from right fielder Pancho Francisco. In the top of the seventh, Francisco pounded a grand slam home run to right-center. His 12th home run of the season put the Stars ahead, 14-1.
