Seattle wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Gary Bailey, falling to the South Fork Frogs, 4-3. Bailey threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Earning his 15th save of the year was Colin Ayotte. The Frogs, at 22-34, have now won 4 straight.
Had it not been for Randolph Perry, the results might have been different. In the top of the ninth inning, when the Frogs were trailing 3-2, Perry hit a 2-run single for South Fork, giving his team the lead.
After the game, South Fork manager Tom Rutherford applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
