Series Lead Cut to 1 for San Jose After 2-1 Loss
At 36, Étienne Clément knows he may not have many playoff appearances left, so he was determined to make it memorable. Mission accomplished.

The Cleveland Steamers starting pitcher threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball to help his club get past the San Jose Quakes, 2-1, in Game 3 of the Division Series at Cisco Field today. With the win, Cleveland now trails San Jose 2-1 in the best-of-5 series.

Cleveland used the timely hitting of Albert Reeves to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Steamers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It's a big deal," Reeves said of the win. "If we had gone to 0-3, we're pretty much out of it."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Cisco Field in San Jose.
