Steamers Move on to League Championship Series
|
The sweet swing of Arturo Batista has led his team through the Division Series.
The Cleveland Steamers star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the San Jose Quakes to advance to the League Championship Series.
The Steamers won the final game at Cleveland Municipal Stadium by a score of 3-1 and the series 3-2.
"I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Batista. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs."
For the series, Batista hit .429 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Cleveland Steamers will play against the Los Angeles Agents in the next round. Los Angeles won their series against the San Diego Storm 3 games to 0. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
