Stars Hammered by Flores, Drop Game 3 to Double O's
The Potomac Double O's have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Virginia Beach Stars, winning 4-1 at Ian Fleming Field today. Double O's second baseman Alfonso Flores went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Double O's to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Division Series.

There was more than one reason the Double O's beat the Stars, but Flores's big at-bat in the bottom of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run home run.

"I try to take on every game as if it is the most important of the season, so I don't feel like anything's different now," Flores said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ian Fleming Field in Potomac.
