Stars Win Division Series
Virginia Beach center fielder Rubén Sousa couldn't hide his reaction when asked about being named MVP of the Division Series.

"It's a nice honor," he said, failing to suppress a wide smile. The trophy was presented to Sousa moments after his club eliminated the Potomac Double O's to advance to the League Championship Series.

Virginia Beach won the final game by a score of 9-0 at Ian Fleming Field and took the series 3-1.

"We won the series and that's the main thing," Sousa said. "They were a tough team and we didn't want to take anything for granted."

For the series, Sousa hit .474 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 5 runs.

"He was tough to stop and that's a big reason they're there and we're here," said a dejected Potomac manager Tim Sullivan.

The Virginia Beach Stars don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Washington Eagles - Miami Mutiny series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
