Miami Win to Pull Even With Washington
|
The Miami Mutiny and the Washington Eagles will take the Division Series to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Mutiny beat the Eagles 4-2 at Field of Honor 2 to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Miami right-hander Gabriel Árias had a big role in the win. He threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball.
Miami used a clutch hit from Jimmy Ingram to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mutiny ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Washington manager Jeff Brain said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
Game 5 is scheduled for Monday at Piggly Wiggly Park in Miami.
