Miami Snaps Overgaag's Streak at 20 Friday, May 27th, 2039 Lense Overgaag saw his 20-game hitting streak wither and die today during the New Orleans Crawdads win over Miami at Vanward Field. The 28-year-old center fielder was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Miami Mutiny, but his teammates produced enough offense to take the game, 6-2. "Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Overgaag told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 20 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good." This year Overgaag is hitting .314 with 54 hits, 5 home runs, 33 RBIs and has scored 16 runs. |
