Álvarez Out-Powers Competition
Monday, July 11th , 2044
Each year, one slugger is crowned the champion of the Home Run Challenge. This time, it was Alberto Álvarez. He out-hit the competition at Oceanview Park to win the event. The Virginia Beach Stars left fielder out-swung Aymeric Rospigliosi in the final round, 13-12.
"There are no slouches in this contest," said Álvarez. "To win it, you have to earn it."
In his career Álvarez has gotten 1186 hits with a .293 batting average, scored 682 runs, hit 318 home runs and driven in 799.
