Schmidt Pounds 3 HR Against Crawdads Saturday, September 26th , 2054 It was a good day for the El Paso Apaches and an exceptional one for Shaun Schmidt. The 34-year-old right fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Apaches beat the New Orleans Crawdads 14-0 at Vanward Field. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Schmidt said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 4 times, drove in 4 runs and smacked 3 hits in 5 at-bats.
