Solís 5-for-6 for Placida
Friday, April 23rd , 2055
After a 5-hit effort to lead Placida's 15-0 victory over the Reno Chukars, first baseman Francisco Solís told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the FOD Triple A-level is really something special."

The 25-year-old player earned his accolades today at Ballpark of Salt Lake City with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Chukars.

"His swing is getting there," said Pelicans skipper , who spoke glowingly of Solís after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Francisco did that to perfection today."

Francisco Solís hit a two-run home run off Glenn Ross in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, walked in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

Solís is hitting .455 this year with 1 home run, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. He has 10 hits in 22 at-bats, 2 walks and a .500 on-base percentage. Solís has played in 9 games.
