Columbus's Chacón Out 9 Months Saturday, August 1st , 2054 When António Chacón was hurt against the Brookhaven Bearcats, the Columbus Clippers were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 33-year-old second baseman suffered a concussion colliding with a player at a base in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Chacón would miss 9 months of the season. For the season Chacón is currently batting .304 with 1 home run and 20 RBIs. In 66 games he has reached base at a .364 rate and scored 23 runs to date. |
