Alvarado Twirls 2-0 Shutout for Bayhawks

Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Reno Chukars as starter Jesús Alvarado shut out the Reno Chukars 2-0 at Ballpark of Salt Lake City. The Chesapeake pitcher struck out 2 and walked 2 while allowing 4 hits.
"Alvarado was good but he wasn't flawless," Reno manager said later. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Chesapeake, but this is on us."
This season Alvarado has a 2-3 mark in 8 starts with a 3.97 ERA. He has given up 46 hits in 47.2 innings, struck out 18 and issued 11 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .257 batting average against him.
