Galván Big Deal in Fresno: Hits for Cycle Tuesday, April 13th , 2055 Wilson Galván was jubilant as the Fresno Fireants left the field with a 7-6 win over the Columbus Clippers today. He had every right to be. The 28-year-old right fielder hit for the cycle at 97s Ballpark, had a 4-for-5 game and chalked up 2 runs batted in and 3 runs to boot. "It's too bad I can't do that every day," Galván said with a smile to reporters after the game. "It would do wonders for my batting average." Fresno manager was "proud" of the right fielder's feat, but was not expecting it to happen. "Cycles are tough because triples are tough," the skipper said. "As soon as the ball left the bat on that triple, guys were jumping off the bench for him. Honestly, I wasn't sure he was going to be able to leg it out." Wilson Galván doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off William Taylor in the 9th. View Boxscore |
