Lightning Halt Guedes's Hit Streak Thursday, September 10th , 2054 Augusta defeated Lynnwood 3-2 today at Grand Rapids Grounds, but saw the 20-game hitting streak of Wildcats left fielder Paulino Guedes snapped -- the Lightning held Guedes hitless in 4 at-bats. "I enjoyed the streak," he said in a BNN interview after the game. "It's great in one way, but the day-to-day pressure to keep it going can be tough to handle, too. The main thing is we got the win today. That's all that really counts." This year Guedes is batting .339 with 106 hits and 12 home runs. He has scored 59 times and has batted in 57 runs. |
