Yankees welcome top SS prospect Willy Adames to the majors

In his first game after getting called to the major leagues, Willy Adames hit his first ever ML home run. “Adames has been a leader to his teammates in the minor leagues and we are hoping his leadership, not only his impact at the plate and on the field, will translate to the major leagues” Yankees GM Andy Lu says. Adames is currently a 22 year old SS who will be able to contribute at the plate, both contact and power, on the field, and running the bases. Many scouts say that he has a great eye for pitches. If he continues developing at the rate he currently is, Adames will be a impact SS in the league for a long time.

How the Yankees acquired Willy Adames:

Yankees sent:
SP Shane Baz and RF Heliot Ramos to the Nationals for SS Willy Adames and CF Arturo Guerrero

When asked to comment on this trade, Yankees GM Andy Lu says “Adames was no doubt the best player in this trade with the closest path to the Majors.” SS is a crucial position in the ML so getting a highly rated SS prospect in Adames was a move that he was pleased with.
