The Detroit Tigers overcame a good performance by Minnesota left fielder Roberto Campos to knock off Minnesota, 8-5, at Target Field. Campos went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Andrew Politi, now 3-2, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Evan Sisk earned the save, his 2nd.

Nasim Nunez, who is tied for 7th in the AL in stolen bases with 30, aided the Detroit cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the eighth. For the game, the shortstop drew 1 walk.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Nunez told the Detroit Daily.

Detroit has now won 3 straight, while the Twins have lost 5 in a row.
