Hayden Wesneski pitched well, but the San Francisco Giants still lost the game, falling 4-1 to the Colorado Rockies at Colorado Field. The win was credited to Alex Lange in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Hayden Wesneski took the loss. Aaron Ashby closed it out for his 7th save.
Colorado first baseman Triston Casas contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 160th hit of the season and put the Rockies ahead, 2-1.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Colorado skipper Koty Kochan. "I can't complain."
Colorado is now 95-60, San Francisco 78-77.
