The Detroit Tigers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 14-1, at PNC Park. Detroit designated hitter Michael Brantley collected 3 singles and 1 double, while driving in 1 runs. The win gives the Tigers a record of 19-41.

The Tigers got an important contribution from right fielder Seiya Suzuki, who in the top of the second hit a fastball into left-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Tigers ahead, 2-0.
