Win Extends Yankees Lead to 3-0 Over Expos
The New York Yankees moved to within one game of the Championship Series today, downing the visiting Montreal Expos at Yankee Stadium by a score of 5-1. Yankees right-hander Luis Serna had a strong outing in which he threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Yankees a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Roc Riggio had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for New York. He came through with a 2-run single to put New York in front, 5-1.

"Luis was pounding the zone," said New York manager Andy Yankees.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Yankee Stadium in New York.
