The New York Yankees topped the Boston Red Sox, 8-2, in American League action at Yankee Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of New York pitcher Henry Baez. Adrian Morejon earned the save, his 3rd. New York is now 47-51.

The game could have flipped with one out in the top of the third. But Henry Baez made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With the bases loaded and Boston trailing 3-1, Baez threw a fastball to Ivan Herrera and Herrera flied out.
