Aviators Upend Indians, 4-3
|
Nolan Schanuel was a major factor in the 4-3 Carolina win over Cleveland. The Aviators left fielder went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Carolina starter Kyle Wright was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 7-9. Seranthony Dominguez got the save, his 23rd in 28 chances.
Schanuel had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 3-1 fastball from Jose Berrios, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Aviators a 4-2 lead. It was the 12th home run of the year for Schanuel.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Schanuel said.
With the win, Carolina upped its record to 51-51.
