The Minnesota Twins picked up a win at T-Mobile Park, knocking off the Seattle Mariners, 4-3. On the mound for Minnesota was left-hander Blake Snell, who played a pivotal role in the win. Snell went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0. Alexis Diaz, credited with the save, is now 22 for 24 in save opportunities.
Tyler Soderstrom, the two-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Soderstrom contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put Minnesota up, 4-0.
"I felt good up there," said Soderstrom. "I saw the ball well."
The first-place Twins, at 72-40, now lead their division by 4½ games.
