Cubs Handled by New York, 7-2
|
The New York Mets got a stellar performance from pitcher Dylan Ray, who handcuffed the Chicago offense en route to a win, 7-2, at Citi Field. The 6th-place Mets are 54-61.
Byron Buxton drew 1 walk for New York. The 32-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Tanner Witt. It was his 21st walk of the season.
"I thought we played a nice game," Buxton told the New York Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
