Expos Lose By a Run at Baltimore, 7-6
|
The Baltimore Orioles trumped the Montreal Expos, 7-6, at Frank Robinson Stadium. Baltimore left fielder Riley Greene was terrific. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Carlos Estevez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 3-2. Josh Hader converted his 34th save in 37 tries.
Had Mark Vientos not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Vientos hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Orioles.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Orioles manager Lloyd Boston, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
The Orioles have a winning streak of 4 games.
