Minnesota and Montreal duked it out and the Twins came out victorious.

The Minnesota Twins got a stellar performance from pitcher Matt Canterino, who handcuffed the Montreal offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Stade Olympique. Canterino, the winner, moves to 6-2. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Alexis Diaz was credited with the save for Minnesota, his 27th of the season.

Minnesota relied on the bat of Kenedy Corona to get the win. The center fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Twins ahead, 2-0. For the game, Corona had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.

"I just tried to put the barrel on it," said Corona.

Minnesota goes to 84-52. The win puts them 3 games up in their division.
