Royals Earn 4-2 Road Win Over Cleveland
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Cleveland Indians take on the Kansas City Royals.
Kansas City pitcher Emmet Sheehan did his part in helping his team beat the Cleveland Indians, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Kansas City reliever Brooks Raley picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Simeon Woods Richardson took the loss. Leonardo Lugo earned the save for Kansas City, his 3rd.
CJ Abrams, who finished 2nd in the AL in stolen bases with 57 in 2024, helped out the Kansas City cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the designated hitter was 2-5 with a double.
"We take it day by day here," said Abrams, "and today was a good one for us."
The Royals, now 6-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.
