Red Sox Collect 4-1 Win Over Reds
|
The Boston Red Sox picked up a win at Johnny Bench Park, knocking off the Cincinnati Reds, 4-1. Starting pitcher Joseph King was an essential part of his team's success. Luke Murphy, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. The win puts Boston at 4-6.
Boston needed the clutch hitting of Corey Seager to notch the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Red Sox on top, 4-1. For the game, Seager had 1 home run and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.
In postgame comments, Seager said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
