Minnesota Makes It 6 Straight with 6-5 Win
|
Despite a great performance by Seattle left fielder Jeff McNeil, the Minnesota Twins defeated the Mariners by the score of 6-5 at Target Field. McNeil was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Eric Torres, now 2-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. The Twins, now 16-8, have been playing some good baseball.
Orelvis Martinez was the walk-off hero for Minnesota. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Twins second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"The house was rockin'," said Martinez.
