McCarty Slaps 5 Hits
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.

Jon McCarty is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Wofford Terriers at Field. The monster effort from the 19-year-old right fielder helped the Elon Phoenix get the win, 21-10.

"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Terriers manager Tarik Skubal. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."

Jon McCarty walked in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Arturo Amaya in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Mike Saxton in the 9th.

Currently McCarty has 18 home runs and a .289 batting average.
