Rebels Win Wildcard Series
|
It's a sweet sweep for the West Monroe Rebels and they have won the Wildcard Series. The Keller Indians were not able to keep pace with the Rebels and dropped the series in short order, losing 7-4 in the deciding game.
"This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Keller manager Willie Medina.
It's now on to the Regional Series for West Monroe after their 2-0 series win.
Leading the way for the winners was left fielder Gilberto Orosco, who was named MVP. For the series, Orosco hit .750 with a .778 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The West Monroe Rebels don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Rockwall-Heath Hawks - Southlake Carroll Dragons series. Southlake Carroll leads the series 1 game to 0. The Regional Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes.
