Abilene Christian Moves on to College World Series Semifinals
The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Field as the Super Regionals stretched to the final game.

It was the Abilene Christian Wildcats feeling the thrill of victory, with a 10-9 win over the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the College World Series Semifinals.

"There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Louisiana-Monroe manager Carlos David Rodriguez. "Congratulations to Abilene Christian, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight."

Instrumental in the 2-1 series win was first baseman Josh Olson, who was named MVP. He hit .444 with a .688 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 5 runs.

"We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.

The Abilene Christian Wildcats will play against the South Alabama Jaguars in the next round. South Alabama won their series against the Texas Tech Red Raiders 2 games to 0. The College World Series Semifinals schedule will be announced after the Super Regionals finishes.
