UC Santa Barbara Wins College World Series Semifinals
Despite the best efforts of Joey Rideaux, the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos have won the College World Series Semifinals.

The Long Beach State Dirtbags standout was named series MVP, even though his team lost to UC Santa Barbara 14-11 in the final game, and dropped the series 2-0.

"Hats off to them, they deserve to be moving on," Rideaux said at Field after being awarded his MVP trophy. "I just wish I could trade this trophy in for a chance at the College World Series Finals."

For their part, the Gauchos celebrated long into the night, as they are now set to move on to the College World Series Finals.

The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Nevada Wolf Pack - Arizona State Sun Devils series. Arizona State leads the series 1 game to 0. The College World Series Finals schedule will be announced after the College World Series Semifinals finishes.
