Crase Goes 5-for-7 Against Riverside HS
Friday, May 5th, 2028
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Eric Crase today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Ballpark of St. Petersburg HS and paced the Red Claws to a 29-1 win over the Riverside HS Tornado.
After his dynamite batting performance, the St. Petersburg HS right fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."
His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. Eric Crase hit an RBI single in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Steve Horton in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Josh Fryer in the 8th.
Crase is hitting .348 this season with 17 home runs, 49 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has 46 hits in 132 at-bats.
