Borchert 5-for-6 Against Riverside HS Thursday, May 11th, 2028 It was a big day for Sonny Borchert and he brought the Pittsburgh HS Bass along for the ride. Borchert led his club to a 17-11 victory over the Riverside HS Tornado today at Bass Ballpark, smoking Riverside HS pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. The 15-year-old catcher later called the victory "sweet." Sonny Borchert singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jimmy Brewer in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jeff Ruby in the 8th. Borchert is swinging at a .346 pace on the year with 5 home runs, 31 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He has played in 36 games. |
