Garlock and Hackler Fight, Get Suspended Friday, May 5th, 2028 Yesterday at Villains Ballpark Brad Garlock and Jamie Hackler got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Charlotte College Villains and Tampa College Alouettes. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Garlock will have to sit out 3 while Hackler would be given a 7-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. Thus far this season Garlock is hitting .250 with 1 home run, 8 RBIs and 4 runs scored. He has 21 hits in 84 at-bats and has played in 28 games. This year Hackler has made 10 relief appearances with no saves. In 23.1 innings, he has permitted 27 hits, fanned 22 hitters and recorded 1 win and 1 loss with a 5.01 ERA. |
