Salem Comes up Empty Against Anchondo Sunday, August 9th , 2043 Federico Anchondo kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Stockton Ports were all smiles after winning 13-0 against the Salem Red Sox at Banner Island Ballpark today. The right-handed Anchondo gave up no runs in his start, permitted 4 hits and had 10 strikeouts. "If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Anchondo said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be." Thus far this season, Anchondo has worked 93.2 innings with 55 strikeouts en route to a 6-2 record and a 4.04 ERA. |
