Home Field Advantage: Girault, Toronto Open GLBL Championship with Win
The GLBL Championship got off to a quiet start today, with the host Toronto Maples taking a low-scoring 2-1 win over the Detroit Thunderbirds. Toronto left-hander Rolland Girault was marvelous at Ontario Ballpark. The Maples now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Girault, the Toronto left-hander, went 6 innings, allowing no runs on 2 hits. He collected 8 strikeouts.

"I had everything working," said Girault.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ontario Ballpark in Toronto.
