Ramírez Helps Maples Beat Vigilantes, 8-1
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Toronto Maples and Windsor Vigilantes came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
A 3-RBI performance from José Ramírez, who leads the CAN with a .332 batting average, helped the Toronto Maples beat the Windsor Vigilantes, 8-1. Augusto González, the winner, improved to 7-3. He held the Vigilantes to 1 run on 5 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2.
Jorge Barrón, who leads the CAN in extra base hits with 29, aided the Toronto cause with a run-scoring triple in the top of the third. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 5 with a triple.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Toronto skipper G Maloney.
Toronto is now riding a 3-game win streak.
