Led by Martín Ríos, the Detroit Thunderbirds downed the Traverse City Bears, 7-5. Ríos was 4-4 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Thunderbirds. Ríos had a timely hit for Detroit in the top of the ninth. With Traverse City trailing 5-4, he turned a 2-2 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 7-5, Detroit.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Detroit manager Michael Vallery.
