Mounties Collect 5-4 Win Over Maples
|
The Hamilton Mounties weathered an outstanding game by Toronto first baseman Jorge Barrón to topple the Maples, 5-4. Barrón went 4-6 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Picking up the save was Paul Dominey, his 3rd. The win has Hamilton at 7-7.
Hamilton needed the clutch hitting of Arthur Walker to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Mounties on top, 5-4. For the game, Walker had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Toronto manager G Maloney. "The effort was great."
