Both teams had their chances, but the Thunder Bay Caribou eventually prevailed.

The Thunder Bay Caribou faced a tough opponent in Owen Sound pitcher Joe Garland, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Waveriders Ballpark by a final score of 4-3. Garland went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Gah-fat Liang finished to wrap up his 7th save.

Thunder Bay used the clutch hitting of Christophe Latour to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Caribou ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Latour.

The Caribou, now 15-5, have hit the ground running this season.
