Vigilantes Beat Visiting Comets, 8-2
|
Windsor beat Kingston in a rain-soaked ballgame.
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Scott Bond, the Windsor Vigilantes defeated the Kingston Comets, 8-2. Bond was 1 for 2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Vigilantes. Windsor pitcher Jerry Powell got the win. He's now 1-0. Matsusuke Yoshida was tagged with the loss.
Bond contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Windsor in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Bond took a fastball from Matsusuke Yoshida and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Vigilantes to leap in front, 3-1.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Bond, "and go after the next one."
The defeat makes Kingston 1-1.
