Caribou Victors, 8-2, at Windsor
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 2049 Lake Superior Player Award winner Jamal Amador, the Thunder Bay Caribou stopped the Windsor Vigilantes, 8-2, in 9 innings. Thunder Bay reliever Bill Hinxman was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Augusto González took the loss. Windsor falls to 12-9.
With Thunder Bay leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Amador hit a changeup from Augusto González for a run-scoring double. It was his 13th double of the season and put the Caribou ahead, 2-0.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Thunder Bay manager Daniel Mays.
