Thunderbirds Suffer 6-2 Road Loss
|
The Traverse City Bears locked up a win at The Den, knocking off the Detroit Thunderbirds, 6-2. On the mound for Traverse City was left-hander Jeremy Patterson. He played a major role in the triumph. The Thunderbirds fall to 9-13 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2051 season.
Roger Geddes had a big 2-run home run for the Bears in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Traverse City leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Noriyuki Sakuma, who finished 2nd in the USA in innings pitched with 182.2 in 2049, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Bears on top, 3-0.
"This team is on a mission," said Patterson, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
