Waveriders Lose By a Run at Hamilton, 3-2
|
The Hamilton Mounties scored a tight 3-2 win versus the Owen Sound Waveriders at Harbour Field. Hamilton pitcher Carlos Pérez held his own in the contest. Pérez picked up the win for Hamilton, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-4. Juan Sánchez got the save, the 6th for him this season.
Pérez threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball against the Waveriders. With the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Hamilton in front, 3-2.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Hamilton manager Al Borie.
The Waveriders fall to 11-14 and continue their lackluster start in 2049.
